Cadet WO2 Cobie Damsel

WO2 Damsel plans to attend the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and follow that with an MBA and then a law degree at the University of Toronto. He aspires for a position with the United Nations or the International Monetary Fund to either help reduce poverty or fight for human rights.

His cadet experience includes both band and drill team positions, and Advanced Aviation Technology Course and Aircraft Maintenance. He has also participated in an International Air Cadet Exchange in the United Kingdom. He has been part of the drill team for several years and was the Drill Team Commander and taught junior cadets. He has also instructed music and life skills for newer cadets. He has been a member of the unit biathlon team for two years, and has made it to the provincials where he competed against cadets from other units in Manitoba. He has also earned a gold fitness award from the cadet program.

He has been a regular Wednesday volunteer at the Health Sciences Centre Guild's Eatery for the past two years. He has been a volunteer visitor at the Children's Hospital and received a Volunteer Leaders in Service Excellence Award.
