Cadet WO1 Anika Vaags will attend Red River College Polytechnic to earn her Carpentry Credential Certificate. Her long-term goal is to create her own real estate company.

She was a member of the Squadron Drill team, earned a level 3 expert marksmanship badge, participated in the Effective Speaking Competition at the provincial level. She planned her Squadron's "Fitness February" events and continually strived to provide the Cadets in the Squadron with the best experience possible.

She has volunteered in her community with Louis Riel Day, the Anoka Community Mission, Vacation Bible School and Teen Serve. She also worked at a local butcher shop for a number of years. Throughout all these experiences she has done her best to demonstrate the qualities of a good citizen and make a positive impact in all that she does. She values the privilege of representing the character and reliability of an Air Cadet in and outside her Squadron.

She has taken on many leadership responsibilities to support her superiors while doing her best to be a role model and positive example for the Cadets in the Squadron. Her goal is to pass on valuable lessons to the junior Cadets and guide them to one day become the future leaders of the Squadron. As a senior Cadet she has mentored junior Cadets in areas of drill, dress and uniform care as well as explaining the expectations and responsibilities of being a Cadet.

She has participated in baseball and softball, Jiu-jitsu, mixed martial arts (taekwondo, boxing and wrestling). She works out at home using her body weight for the exercises. She maintains her fitness and mental state by doing three to four hours of exercise weekly. She strives to inspire others to get started on their own health journey encouraging physical fitness achievements for everyone.
