CPO 1 Francine Chartier has been a cadet for seven years and is the Corps Coxswain, the most senior position providing assistance and direction to junior cadets. She won the Navy League of Canada Excellence Medal in 2011 and has participated in a cadet exchange program in Montreal, Quebec. She has been playing soccer since she was seven, has played for her school, has recently progressed to the Winnipeg Women's Soccer League. She is a first year student at Universitaire de Saint-Boniface where she is studying for a Bachelor of Science degree. Her objective is to become a forensic scientist within the RCMP Laboratory system.
