Cadet Sgt Simon Park, 82 Brandon Rotary Club Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, will attend the University of Alberta where he will study aerospace engineering. He has been an air cadet since 2008 and has competed in speech competitions, instructed junior cadets, learned precision drill and discovered the field of aviation. He was selected to attend Glider Pilot Scholarship Course during the summer of2013. He has been a member of the unit band for three years. He has often used his musical talents to play for special events such as the Kid's Club when they perform. He has also participated in several fund raising activities and has logged more than 100 volunteer hours with the Duke of Edinburgh program. A very capable instructor, he has learned that he must be a follower as well as a leader, and that has given him the skill to lead by example by emphasizing his positive attributes and those of his followers. He has earned a green belt in Taekwondo, plays soccer and enjoys trail biking.
