Cadet WO1 Aidyn Pearce will attend Assiniboine Community College to begin the journey towards a career in aviation through engineering. Once a Civil Engineering Technician, he aims to progress to University to get a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Physics. This will give him the prerequisite to specialize in Engineering and become an Aerospace Engineer.

He has attended camps for his General Training, Basic Aviation, Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace, and Cadet Correspondent Courses. He attended the Level Five Workshop-Iron Stag, was a member of the Squadron Drum Line and competed in Effective Speaking at the Provincial level. He was staff at the CAP training course. He has received the following awards: Top level One Cadet, Mr. Terry Penton Memorial Award, Commanding Officers Honor Roll, Cobra Flight Top Cadet at Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace Course, Top Level Four Cadet, Air Cadet Long Service Medal, Captain (Retired) Mark Delmage Terrebrate Foramina In Caelum Award for personal contribution to aviation, Mr. Jack Stacey Memorial Award for top Cadet Instructor and The Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence. As an Instructor in his Squadron, he strove to present himself and his lessons at a high standard so other Cadets would also strive to achieve the same standard.

He has participated at every volunteer opportunity that his Squadron offered including poppy sales and Remembrance Day ceremonies with the Legion, fundraising events for the Squadron, The Brandon Rotary Club’s Bi-annual Book Sale, and community events such as the Children’s County Fair. He was also a leader of Jeunes Manitobaines dans les Communautés Associées run by the Division Scolaire Franco-Manitobaine.

He is completing his Bronze Level Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. He has trained and participated in five YMCA 5km races, with his team won the École La Source Volleyball Tournament, participated in two MHSA 5km cross country runs and served as a fitness advisor in his Cadet Squadron. He has attained Silver in the Cadet Physical Fitness Assessment.
