Cadet WO1 Alyona Telyatnikova

Cadet WO1 Alyona Telyatnikova will be attending the University of Manitoba, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Genetics. One of her long-term career goals is to work at the JC Wilt Infectious Diseases Research Centre, a key branch of Canada's National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.

She completed the Virtual Aerospace Course, the Survival Instructor Course, the Glider Pilot Training Course, and the Power Pilot Training Course. She was a member of the Drill Team and placed third in the Provincial Effective Speaking Competition. She was the Recruit of the Year, Top Junior NCO, received the Chairman's Trophy for Aviation Excellence, CO's Academic Achievement Award, Outstanding Marksman awards and was named Most Impressive Senior Cadet in Manitoba.

She has volunteered at the Gimli and Brandon cadet flying sites, participated in the Poppy Campaign, volunteered at the WPS half marathon, served as a page in the Model United Nations Assembly, is a regular blood donor, and worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor.

As Warrant Officer First Class of her Squadron, she strives to have a positive influence on younger Cadets so that younger Cadets can see the level of professionalism expected of them. She ensures each Cadet receives the support they need to succeed.

She has taken Traditional Shotokan Karate since 2015, holding a brown belt (2nd Kyu) and is training towards a black belt. She swims, cross country skis, cycles and enjoys multi-day hikes with her family.
